Third and fourth graders spent time comparing U.S. and Korean currency.
They first shared what they knew about U.S. currency and then talked
about the people portrayed on the one, two, five, ten, twenty, fifty, and
one-hundred dollar bill. Why were those people chosen to be
portrayed on a bill? Ji Eun then shared Korean bills and students worked
in teams to learn about the people portrayed on the Korean bills.
This learning leads up to students using Korean currency
(play, of course) to trade at a little Korean market.
