Third graders are becoming geologists. Today they studied
"mock rocks" and performed tasks similar to what geologists
would when studying rocks and minerals. They sketched their
rocks and wrote about the physical characteristics (properties). They
then measured the rock's depth, diameter, circumference, and weight.
