Third graders chiseled away trying to determine
materials that made up their "mock rock."
They broke up the"mock rock" into smaller
parts and identified several components.
Wanting to know if there might be more identifiable
material in the smallest particles, the students then
placed about a tablespoon of this material into a vial
and added 25 ml of water. They shook this up and
sketched what they observed. They will work more
work with this liquid. Will they discover new materials?
Stay tuned!
