Four Winds!

Third graders enjoyed another fabulous Four Winds
session in which a "dear" topic was the theme!

There was so much to learn!  Ask a third grader about
what crepuscular means? (or find answer at bottom of page)

How big or long are a deer's feet?
How high can deer jump and how far?

What is special about a deer's fur?
Is it the same in the winter as in the summer?

And Antlers?  What is the significance of deer antlers?
Now those are some pretty cute deer!

Deer skulls!  Why are the eyes on the sides of the skull?
Can third graders determine whether deer are herbivores,
carnivores, or omnivores by looking at a deer's teeth?

How much food does a deer typically eat in a day?

Definition - crepuscular
1. of, relating to, or resembling twilight
2. occurring or active during twilight

Third graders learned that deer are most active grazers at twilight.
