VEEP Science!

Laura McLachlan from
Vermont Energy Education Program (VEEP)
spent time with grades 3/4 on Wednesday.  Students
participated in "Electricity and the Environment" activities.
Interactive stations (activities) kept students busy!

First, students had fun exploring with magnets.

Then they moved to interactive stations!  Since the photographer
was overseeing a station - she was unable to take photos :-(  Ask a
third or fourth grader about these interactive stations.

Biking Week! Grass Track and Obstacle Course!

Thanks to Chris McKhann and Gavin for their
help in setting up the grass track.  This was fun
and challenging.  A large oval loop and an outer
loop was used by many riders!

Around 45 bikes lived at Cornwall Elementary for the week!
They slept in the all purpose room, classrooms, and hallways!

An obstacle course was set up on the black top.
Another oval was set up on the basketball court.
Riders wove through cones and under a limbo stick.
Thanks to Mrs. Kautzman for her assistance and
daily supervision with these two courses.

Mr. Hirsch was the limbo king!

Four Winds Finale!

 The Intro:  a puppet show!

The puppet show was almost outdone by frogs!

Next: to the stream!

Then off to the pond!

Super find of the day!
Ella's hand was the perch for this dragonfly to emerge!

 Beautiful!

A moment of relaxation while identifying specimen!
