Kindergarten Train Ride!

Third graders treated the kindergarten students to a "train ride!"
Third graders decided on the roles they would play and also
decided on the snack menu.  They did a great job and the
kindergartners enjoyed the trip!

Conductor John

Purchasing Tickets
Each ticket held the name of the passenger and
the passenger's seat number.

Waiting at the train crossing!

Ready to cross!

Each kindergartner found his or her own special seat!

Snack Car Crew!
Ready and Alert!  :-)

Train technicians, Eli and Jack are in the front
sharing "There Goes The Train" videos.

Snack orders are taken by high quality waitstaff!

Food Prep by Carter and Eliot!
And maybe a few others!

Highly qualified waitstaff offer
seconds and free refills!

I'd ride that train any day!

Suspension Bridges!

Third graders designed suspension bridges using dictionaries as
towers.  They began by testing a suspension bridge without
anchorages.  Then tested a design with anchorages.
Ask a third grader about their results.

Beautiful Shelburne Day!

 First Stop!  TheTrain!
This may have been the funniest part of the day!
Third graders were down on the track as a joke to their parents.  I told
them to wave "good bye" and I would take a video.  Just at that exact moment,
someone blew the horn on the Ticonderoga.  It sounded just like a train whistle.
I have never seen such funny expressions on the students as they all scrambled to
get up off the track!  I practically dropped the camera and could not stop laughing!

On the Ticonderoga!

Third graders (and the teacher) thought this would be a really fun
place to have a sleepover!  There are eight bunks and a private
room just for the teacher :-)

Sixth graders bid farewell!

A family of nine lived in the Colchester Reef Lighthouse.
Amazing!  The kids took a dory to a nearby island to play!
Visit the link below to learn more about this lighthouse!

Electra Havemeyer Webb Memorial Building houses
many Impressionist paintings - Monet,
Manet, Mary Cassatt, Renoir and more!
Six room interiors were brought from Ms. Webb's NYC
apartment and are now part of this building.

Another Favorite!  The giant "lip" couch!

Lunch was yummy!  Thank you FOCS!

Riding the carousel was cool - breeze!

Mrs. Giles captured herself on her horse in this shot!

And then a surprise retirement party!  For ...
Complete with two cakes!

"My eleven years at Cornwall have been a joy.  I feel so fortunate
because it has never felt like work - but just like fun! I couldn't
have had this great journey alone.  I was very lucky to work with all
of the great families, students, and the terrific Cornwall Staff!!!
Thanks Everyone!!!"

Third graders off to the jail!!!

If this isn't pathetic solitary confinement, I don't know what is!

On the playground!

Time for another round of "Old School."
