Beam Bridge Terms: beam, columns, abutments
Third graders used a single sheet of 8 1/2 X 11 paper
to construct a beam bridge. Laying it flat, they used cm cubes
(1 gram each) to test the weight limit of the bridge.
They recorded the weight data. Next, they were challenged
to use the same sheet of paper to make a more stable
beam bridge that would be able to support more weight.
